TANZANIA ASSOCIATION OF MICROFINANCE INSTITUTIONS – TAMFI
1st Microfinance Breakfast Debate- Dar es Salaam Chapter—-

Sector based business breakfast debates are a healthy platform for
problem solving discussions and sharing experiences. In the upcoming
debates for microfinance sector, – we will address hot topics, which
are instrumental for the development of the whole sector. Our first
discussion will be based on:

Challenges in Managing Credit in Increasingly Risky Group Lending

Practitioners of group lending methodology in Tanzania are
experiencing increase in credit risks with group lending clients.
Changing lifestyle, urbanization challenges and increase in lenders
have been cited as fueling increased credit risks in group lending.
This is making group lending business model very risky and
challenging. If this situation is not properly addressed many
microfinance institutions will be badly hit, and risk fatal
consequences which may lead to bankruptcy.

In addressing the above challenge TAMFI has organized a half day

practitioners, service providers and interested individuals to attend
