Dar es Salaam, 10th July 2013
The Private Sector will launch an important survey on the Tanzanian
investment climate on Thursday, July 11th from 10 Am to 4pm.

A cross-cut of business leaders of all sectors of the Tanzanian economy
were interviewed for the report.

The launch event at Karimjee Hall will involve public sector and private
sector in vibrant round table discussions about issues of doing business in
Tanzania – looking into the challenges and prospects.

A statement issued by the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) says
that the report, titled “Business leader perceptions of the investment
climate in Tanzania” is compiled from an annual survey.

The survey by Ipsos-Synovate assesses the investment climate and the
business environment in Tanzania by obtaining views from prominent business
leaders representing all sectors and levels of the economy. Also
interviewed were executive directors of private sector membership
organizations.

TPSF Executive Director Mr. Godfrey Simbeye notes that findings of annual
surveys for the past four years have provided a good insight in the state
of the investment climate from the perspective of Tanzanian business
leaders.

Seven umbrella business associations, representing the entire Tanzanian
economy, have rallied behind their national apex TPSF to launch the report:
ACT, ANSAF, ATE, CTI, TCCIA, TCT and Vibindo Society. The launch will be
used as a platform for public-private dialogue on improving the investment
climate. The survey and launch are supported by BEST-AC.

Apart from a round table discussion, the event will also present the annual
awards of the best cartoonists commenting on the ease of doing business in
Tanzania. Music performances and short videos will lively up the event, and
even the music and video presentations will be revolving around issues of
the business environment of the creative industries.
