Zantel improves youth lifestyle at affordable costs

Youth are likely to enjoy a certain higher standard of lifestyle at an
affordable rates following one of the telecom operators move of
forming a youth club.

Zanzibar telecommunication – Zantel – is these weeks launching a youth
preposition that will enable the youth celebrate a certain life like
going to clubs, buying fashionable things and clothes, boarding a
plane and accommodation at a reduced price.
To achieve this, Zantel has already entered into agreement with
numerous clubs, fashion shops, hotels, airliners and restrautants that
will offer massive discounts to Zantel youth prepositions.

“Youth are spenders but we want to help them spend less by enabling
them get massive discounts from all corners of life. We want them to
spend less and yet enjoy life to the fullest,” said Zantel’s Chief
Executive Officer, Ali Bin Jarsh, in an interview recently.
According to Jarsh, a Zantel subscriber to become a member of such a
club and enjoy the massive discounts only need to have Zantel’s talks
time for Tsh500 and subscribes only once.

But from the Tsh500 that will be deducted every day, one gets15
minutes of Zantel to Zantel, 300sms to any network and unlimited
internet on mobile phone. After the 15 minutes, calling rates will be
charged at only Tsh0.10 per second, the lowest to be offered in the
industry. There is nothing like redeeming points or ranking of the
members.

This makes the new service a unique one not only in the country but in
Africa in general. No any firms so far has ever come up with such a
service in the telecom industry.

Since each member will have a pin, when he/she goes to shops, clubs,
hotels and airlines that Zantel has collaborated with, they will be
offered special and massive discounts. The pin numbers that the
subscriber will be possession will tell whether he is a youth member
or not.

Apart from promoting lifestyles that is mainly enjoyed by the youth,
the idea will also increase customer base for both the firms that
Zantel has collaborated with and Zantel’s subscribers’ base.

“It’s a lifestyle, yes! But overall, the firms we are collaborating
with will increase their customers base and profitability,” said the
Zantel’s boss.

This however is something different from High life in which High
Valued Customers enjoy addition services like affordable hotel
services, very low international calling rates and other services that
make the subscriber feel that Zantel values them.

Zantel is among the telecom firms that have a massive promotions and
services like – Mzuka Kamili, Twanga Zaidi; Umoja Tariff; Mzuka
Kamili, Kula Buku; Z-Connect and Mimina for people of different
economic status enjoy low calling rates and data services.

Tanzania’s telecom market faces a strife price walls that have seen
almost all mobile companies significantly lowering down their price
but Zantel seems to have extremely down with it’s innovative.

For instances, it is among the cheapest when it comes to across
network where it charges only Tsh1.99 per second unlike the Tsh3 per
second by other telecom companies. Also, calling abroad, Zantel’s
charges cannot be compared to other networks, leave alone the modem
price and data bundle charges.
