Young, Famous, and African returns for second season

Netflix’s highly popular reality show, Young, Famous, and African, is making a much-anticipated return to screens on May 19, 2023, with a second season. Fans of the show are eagerly anticipating the return of their favorite African celebrities as well as the introduction of new cast members.

The show, which follows the glamorous lives of African celebrities from six different countries, including Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, Namibia, Ghana, and South Africa, takes place in Johannesburg.

The returning cast members include Khanyi Mbau, the South African socialite, Tanzanian singer and songwriter Diamond Platnumz, and Nigerian actress and model Annie Macaulay-Idibia. Also returning are Nigerian singer 2Baba, Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan, South African radio presenter Naked DJ, rapper Nadia Nakai, Nigerian fashion influencer Swanky Jerry, and South African TV presenter Andile Ncube.

The second season will also feature five new cast members, including South African media personality Bonang Matheba, Namibian star Luis Munana, as well as South African actresses Rosette and Sebabatso. These new cast members are expected to bring even more drama and entertainment to the show.

Young, Famous, and African is known for showcasing the luxurious lifestyles of African celebrities, which is a stark contrast to the stereotypical images of African hardship that are often depicted in the media. The show’s first season was an instant hit and ranked number one in Africa during its first week of release in March 2023. It stayed in the top 10 for four weeks in Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa.

The show’s second season promises to answer many unanswered questions from the first season, such as what happened between Diamond Platnumz, Andile Ncube, and Zari Hassan after their chance encounter at Diamond’s home. Fans are also eager to know the status of everyone’s friendships after many arguments, loads of drama, and a pot stir or two from Khanyi Mbau and Nadia Nakai.

Although the exact date of filming is unknown, it is known that Nadia Nakai lost her boyfriend, slain rapper AKA, on February 10th, 2023. Fans are curious to see how this event will affect her on the show and whether it will be addressed.

The return of Young, Famous, and African is highly anticipated, and fans are eager to see their favorite African celebrities back on their screens. The show’s unique approach to showcasing the luxurious lifestyles of African celebrities has made it a fan favorite and is expected to draw even more attention with its second season.
