SAUT in collaboration with BEST-AC and ANSAF is offering a fully
funded course in Investigative Business Journalism for the experienced
journalists in Tanzania.

The course aims to equip journalists with the knowledge to
successfully report on the business environment effectively and
efficiently. At the end of this course, journalists should have the
ability to use data with a compelling narrative to educate and impart
essential business news to the readers. The course will be held at the
SAUT campus in Mwanza for four intensive weeks starting in June 2012.
After the course, students will undergo an attachment period of 6
months, during which also some mentoring shall be received from SAUT
lecturers.
Admission into the program will be competitive based on the following
minimum requirements that should demonstrate your competence as a
journalist;
ï‚· Professional qualifications in journalism or mass communications
 At least 5 years’ experience in print and broadcasting journalism in
Tanzania having been published in the local daily newspapers within
the last 12 months.

a 2 page essay type written to demonstrate your motivation for
participating in this course
ï‚· An updated curriculum vitae with details of three referees
ï‚· 5 (scanned hard copy) Articles of work that you have authored and
published in the local media houses.
ï‚· 5 minutes audio or video of the News broadcasts or similar (if any)
ï‚· Entries (particulars) should be original pieces and demonstrate
realities on the ground
ï‚· Previous work on agri-business/ rural development will be an added advantage

ANSAF and BEST – AC will have the pleasure to organize awards and
grants for the top students upon publishing articles that have been
peer reviewed and have demonstrated the aptitude to become excellent
investigative business journalists by 2013. Opportunities for
internships will be available.
