Miss Africa Michelle Mrema Visits Tanzanian Orphanage

Miss Africa Michelle Mrema officially started her duties as Miss Africa when she visited Sokoni-based Christ of Naichi Orphanage in Tanzania and donated TShs600,000. Mrema promised to visit Africa’s orphanages when she was crowned last year.

Israel Maasa the Auxiliary Bishop of the International Evangelism Centre received the money.

Miss Africa Victoria pageant was held on the 30th of August 2008 at the magnificent Camberwell Centre in Melbourne.

Competing for the title were 18 beautiful, strong African women who made the judges’ task extremely difficult. The contestants were narrowed down to seven according to Club Afrique and each had to answer a set of questions that would determine the final three.

Michelle Mrema, representing Tanzania, was crowned Miss Africa Victoria “2008” by Zimbabwean producer and song writer Adius Mtawarira. 1st Princess went to Tendai Kambikambi from Zimbabwe and Rosemond Kumatse from Ghana was crowned 2nd Princess.
