German Churches asked to promote cultural tourism in Tanzania

CHURCHES in Germany have been asked to support Cultural tourism in Tanzania
since this type of tourism is the most viable for sustainable economic
development in rural areas of Tanzania.

Speaking at an Annual Synod General Assembly of the Lutheran church – in
Mecklenburg Germany – an activist in Cultural tourism and former member of
the Board of Trustees of Tanzania Culture Trust Fund, Elly Kimbwereza,
appealed to the German people to help in building an elaborate framework of
partnership within which our people can feed themselves and provide their
own values of reference and look after their own future.

Kimbwereza was invited to give a word on behalf of the Pare diocese
leadership which already in partnerships with various churches in Germany.

In his videotaped speech which Faidamax witnessed, Kimbwereza believes that to
fully tackle mass poverty the government must create put on strategies that
will improve heath, reforestation , building up transport and communication
and finding employment.

He thanked the German people saying that in many ways they had shown concern
and readiness to help when asked. He expected more readiness from them to
share responsibilities in favor of their poor partners.

He concluded his remarks by saying that he did not underestimate the
difficulties but he believed that the areas of co- operation must be
successfully broaden if we are to eliminate poverty. And a good way for this
is to visit each other and get some cultural experiences of our people.
