Boyz II Men to visit Kenya; VVIP tickets go for Sh30,000

American vocal harmony group Boyz II Men is set to headline the second edition of the Stanbic Yetu Festival set for June 10, 2023.

This will be their first-ever Africa tour and they will later proceed to Uganda and South Africa.

In what promises to be a concert to remember, there are three categories of tickets for those who would want to be part of the unique R&B experience.

Regular tickets go for Sh8,000, VIP tickets go for Sh15,000 and VVIP tickets go for Sh30,000.

The group currently comprises Nathan Morris (baritone), Wanya Morris, and Shawn Stockman (tenors). Initially, bass singer Michael McCary was also part of the group but left in 2003 due to health issues.

One of their most popular hits ‘End of the Road’, was released in 1992 and held the top spot on Billboard Hot 100 for thirteen weeks.

They followed this up with two other popular tracks, I’ll Make Love to You and One Sweet Day which cemented their place as world stars.

Songs like ‘On Bended Knee’, ‘Water Runs Dry’ and ‘The Color of Love’ continue to rake in numbers on YouTube and other streaming platforms due to their relatable nature and carefully chosen lyrics that have remained relevant for decades.

As expected, Kenyans online had a lot to say about the upcoming concert and many recalled how they would sneak in some of the group’s lines in love letters.

Despite the ticket prices, many believe that it is worth the money due to the standards set by the trio.
