Actualised determination is the heart of success
*It’s the ingredient that makes the people who change the world
*Music maestro Justin Bieber is a living example

We all perceive the word “determination” as banter especially when being talked about in a gathering. Would you be more anxious to know about it if I told you that there is more to what meets the eye?
We do know the applications, costs, requirements and all yadda that comes with determination. However, have you ever wondered about its actual meaning including the philosophical view? That’s what I thought.
Determination is basically the will and why to carry out a set task. In addition, literature has been so kind as to supplement us with another vocabulary with the nomenclature of “determination lift”. Determination lift on the other hand is the quality of firmly deciding to do something. Story story?
In this very world, this musical world, a star would rise. You wouldn’t believe he came from a poor family. It’s one Justin Bieber, RnB sensation. At school, his teachers loved him and encouraged him to work hard in education.
After school, he used to spend time with his grandparents. His mother would then fetch him after work, and they would go home. He had already known how to play the guitar at 5. He would play songs with his guitar on the street and his mum would record and upload his videos on YouTube and even play them on important family occasions such as his birthday.
At 7, he had become a real go-getter at everything he did. He received a lot of support from his mum since she spent almost half of her salary to purchase his musical equipment and pay for his music classes which were twice a week.
At 14, he attended his first concert to try to sing “Never say never” but he, unfortunately, lost the competition. Scooter Braun, a renowned record executive was going through YouTube videos at 3:00 am when he accidentally clicked one of Bieber’s videos. Naturally, he was marvelled by the young singer.
He immediately paid Bieber a visit to harness the latter’s potential. After Bieber’s mum gave in to Braun’s plea to take along Bieber, the latter joined forces with Jaden Smith. This duo was able to release their debut song “Never say never” since Braun provided all necessary resources, including equipment.
Justin performed live and being a teen along with singing lots of his other amateur songs made the adjudicators award him even more marks.
Even Debby Ryan (Jesse) attended the concert and was awed by Justin’s singing. When the time for announcing results had come, Bieber had been thinking about his past failures. To his perplexity, it was announced he was the winner! He received a grand prize of $58 million.
Justin’s fame and stardom had finally met him. He sent Ludacris a letter asking him to join him in producing and shooting the music video of “Baby”. Ludacris immediately accepted and they met to begin writing the song. Since then, many big artists began looking for him in hope of a collaboration.
Since then he journeyed his own breakthrough in the music industry to date. He is one of the artists globally to receive as many awards as he has. Some of them include the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal presented by the then Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper.
Another big hit was having the most followers on Twitter and having the most viewed music channel and subscribers on YouTube as a male. Can you imagine he had even received a letter from Michelle Obama just for his success?
What do we fish from this ocean of a story?
Determination is the catalyst for our success. Without it, our efforts are pretty much void. Without it, the only apple you would be knowing is the actual fruit and not the prized technological empire created by Steve Jobs. Or even electricity born of Thomas Edison. Do not quit before you try.
Try, try and try for you may give up during the last rung yet your blessing was placed at the very top of the ladder. Wake up, pray and grind! Hustle. The world is only for those who dare to try. Help change our world.
John Assaraf, an entrepreneur, author, mindset and behaviour experts note that “Our job as humans is to hold on to the thought of what we want, make it absolutely clear in our minds what we want..”
That is the spirit of determination, and according to Assaraf, after that “we start to invoke one of the greatest laws in the Universe and that’s The Law of Attraction. You become what you think about most, but you also attract what you think about most.”

To you my faithful reader, I leave you the gift below, a timeless quote by Bob Doyle, the famed author Of Wealth Beyond Reason:
“The Law of Attraction doesn’t care whether you perceive something to be good or bad, or whether you don’t want it or whether you do want it. It’s responding to your thoughts. So if you’re looking at a mountain of debt, feeling terrible about it, that’s the signal you’re putting out into the Universe. “I feel really bad because of all this debt I’ve got. “You’re just affirming it to yourself. You feel it on every level of your being. That’s what you’re going to get more of.”
