12th Annual Human Resource Summit kicks off in Arusha

Arusha, Tanzania – 12th Annual Human Resource Summit kicked off in Arusha yesterday, with specialized Masterclasses (workshops) and looking at how Tanzania is overcoming volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity in the work environment for national economic gains

The Summit is the East Africa’s premier and most significant annual gathering of top-notch human resources practitioners, will climax on Thursday and Friday, followed by a royal tour of HR practitioners visiting key tourist attractions in Kilimanjaro.

According to Ms Phylisiah Mnene-Mcheni, the founder and convenor of the Human Resource Summit, the World of work is undergoing a massive revolution in both private and public sectors, which requires upskills to manage work, workforce, and workplace for positive and profitable results.

The summit will focus on the best way to manage an unsettled and unpredictable VUCA world, which requires addressing volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity in the work environment to ensure measurable outputs. VUCA is an acronym for “Volatile,” “Uncertain,” “Complex,” and “Ambiguous.”

Among other issues, the summit will examine how Human Resource professionals and top niche executives have to change in leading themselves to lead others into higher and more extraordinary achievements.

The summit, over the years, has become a gathering of the minds of top executives and HR players. It has been instrumental in uplifting participants from leading banks, telecoms, airlines, hotels, retailers, and other cross-industry companies, Non-profit organizations, leading parastatals and public sector bodies that need to register efficient productivity, profits or positive work-related results.

“The conventional HR is gone. We have a hybrid workplace. For best production, results and profitability, accelerating work simplification, and adopting new technology makeup, often outside the conventional spheres, is now the order of the day. It calls for excellent leadership and transformation, starting with the self, which can be reflected on others, to change and shine,” she noted.

The 12th Annual HR Summit & Master Classes are designed to discuss and tackle emerging issues and trends in the World of work, which has become digitalised and involves hybrid workplaces, she noted.

The interactive master classes and HR Summit involves C-level experts sharing key strategies on effective HR transformation, automation, diversity and inclusion in the battle to beat emerging challenges- policy, environmental, health, and so on.

The HR of today is supposed to provide critical decision-making for the future of any business or corporate entity. “The summit provides great opportunities to gain new knowledge, valuable experience, inspiration, and insights from top leaders as well as establish important HR contacts,” noted Ms Phylisiah Mnene-Mcheni.
