Michelle Mrema is a Tanzanian business executive. She is the founder and managing director of Impala Destination Management Company (IDMC), a leading tourism business firm with head office in Arusha but operating throughout Tanzania. She is also involved in real estate and agricuture.
A highly experienced and innovative tourism entrepreneur, she believes Tanzania can become the number one tourist destination globally. All that is required is developing diverse niches based on the increasingly differentiated tourist experience.
She holds a Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management from Southern Cross University (SCU), Australia. Michelle has worked in the hospitality industry for over ten years, with demonstrated leadership skills. Over the years, she has acquired specialist hospitality industry skills in service design and innovation, accommodation operations, food and beverage management, asset protection, security, and core business knowledge in marketing, finance, and human resources management. Michelle has experience managing high-profile events and conferences, both local and international.
Michelle is a member of the Voice of Women Entrepreneurs Tanzania (VOWET) and actively supports women entrepreneurs in reaching their highest potential. She is also very passionate about helping youth and children. She is working to establish a foundation that advocates for a better life for all.
Michelle believes that those with different abilities deserve to be empowered to reach their highest potential. She is an ambassador who supports people living with different abilities to push their agenda in the public domain to get the societal help and understanding they need. She believes that businesses should drive improvements in the accessibility and quality of services and facilities for people with different abilities.
