Precision Air resumes its flights to Arusha, adjusts Joburg departure

Dar es Salaam – July 2nd, 2012. Precision Air-Tanzania’s leading airline has resumed its flights
to Arusha, from 1st July 2012 after suspending them early last year to
allow maintenance of the Arusha airport, which included tarmac of part of the
run way.

Speaking in Dar es
Salaam, Precision Air’s Commercial Director Patrick Ndekana said that the
airline was happy to return to Arusha, pointing out the completion of which
included renovation of the runway 27 at the airport will now allow the airlines
equipment to land in the tourist region.

“We
would like to inform the public that we are now flying to Arusha three to four
times daily from 1st July. These frequencies will bring convenience to
our customers from Arusha after eliminating the drive from Kilimanjaro
International Airport,” Mr. Ndekana said.

The
return of operations to Arusha are expected to boost tourism activities as this
will facilitate easy and quick access to the tourist destination.

Precision
Air is committed to providing its customers with an expedient airline network
which will support socio- economic activities by connecting all regions in
Tanzania.

“Arusha
is one of the major towns in Tanzania – home to international organizations and
conferences mixed with a lot of tourist activities; the region therefore needs
sufficient air services. We believe that Precision Air has the capacity to
offer these services, our customers can therefore expect the best from us,” Mr.
Ndekana said.

Arusha
Airport has been undergoing maintenance for over a year to make the entire
runway operational. The renovation of the runway will allow the airport to
accommodate bigger airplanes.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ndekana also announced that starting July 1st 2012,
the airline will adjust its departure time from Dar es Salaam to Johannesburg from
the current 4:30pm to 10:00am in the morning so as to provide travelers with
convenient onward connections once they arrive in South Africa.

Along with these changes, the airline has also decided to provide
convenient connections from Johannesburg to Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar via Dar es
Salaam so as to cater for the tourist market. This will be serviced 4 times a
week meaning both Zanzibar and Kilimanjaro will now have jet operations
alongside the normal ATR operations.

Precision
Air currently offers the widest connections to all major towns in Tanzania
including Mwanza, Bukoba, Musoma, Kigoma, Kilimanjaro, Arusha, Zanzibar,
Mtwara, Dar es Salaam. Regionally, the carrier flies to Nairobi and Mombasa in
Kenya, Entebbe in Uganda, Hahaya in Comoros, Lusaka in Zambia, Lubumbashi in
Congo DRC as well as Johannesburg in South Africa. Plans are underway to
conquer more destinations in the SADC region and further afield.
