Tanzania Chamber of Minerals and Energy launches new website

Dar es Salaam, 23 November 2011: Tanzania Chamber of Minerals and
Energy (TCME) today launched a brand new website, set to improve the
Chamber’s ability to support its members as well as providing a useful
source of relevant and current information to local and international
stakeholders in the mining industry, media and other website users.
The website features a secure private member area where TCME members
can access critical sector updates and share information, raise and
get feedback on queries and support in their mining operations in
Tanzania.
Speaking at the launch of the website, Emmanuel Jengo, TCME Executive
Secretary said, “In order for TCME to continue to be a relevant and
proactive industry player in the dynamic Tanzanian and regional
market, we felt we had to transform the way we communicate with all
our stakeholders. The website is simply one step in the transformation
of the way we communicate towards becoming a proactive and vibrant
support system in the mining sector in Tanzania. It is expected that
this will have the added knock-on effect of attracting more investors
into the sector by providing them with access to critical information
from the Chamber in a friendly and easy-to-use format.”
He added that the new website is interactive and provides added value
to TCME members and is seen by all to be the first point of reference
for anyone seeking data on the mining sector in Tanzania.
The new website provides useful information on Tanzania’s minerals
industry and will be instrumental in facilitating the development of a
sustainable and productive industry through the provision of news,
events calendars, industry best-practice guidelines and toolkits,
reports and an interactive forum for members that allows them to
dialogue freely on issues pertinent to the sector.
The new website is accessible at http://www.tcme.or.tz
