Blantyre, Malawi – The National Bank of Malawi (NBM) and Akiba Commercial Bank (ACB) in Tanzania are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mr. Arnold Makanda, a cherished member of their respective banking families. Mr. Makanda, who joined Akiba Commercial Bank in November 2020 on secondment from NBM, served as the Chief Finance Officer, contributing significantly to the bank’s transformative journey until his untimely demise.

Mr. Makanda’s career with the National Bank of Malawi began in October 2005, where he demonstrated exceptional financial expertise and leadership. His tenure at Akiba Commercial Bank in Tanzania further underscored his commitment to excellence, driving financial strategies that played a crucial role in the bank’s growth and development.
