DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns have one foot in the CAF Champions League group stage.
Mamelodi Sundowns made light weight of Burundi’s Bumaruru in a CAF Champions League preliminary round qualifier, what does coach Rhulani Mokwena say?
BUMARURU 0-4 MAMELODI SUNDOWNS
Following the end of the international week, Sundowns restarted business with a trip to Tanzania to face the Burudians on Friday 15 September in Azam.
Goals from Lucas Costa Ribeiro (X2), Lebisa Nku and Peter Shalulile ensured Sundowns take a 4-0 lead to the second leg in Tshwane next week.
Speaking on the trip, Mokwena had nothing but praise for hospitality in the East African nation.
“Let me take this opportunity to thank the Tanzanian people. Ever since we arrived you showed us great hospitality, the warmth and reception that you showed us was incredible,” he said.
“I just want to take this opportunity on behalf of Mamelodi Sundowns, our leadership, and the Motsepe family. The Tanzanian Football Association and the government for hospitality,’ Mokwena added.
