Senegal international Sadio Mane is set to become Africa’s highest-paid footballer, overtaking Liverpool forward Mohammed Salah and Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez.
The 30-year-old Mane is joining Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich next summer after a £31.5 million buyout clause was activated.
Mane who is traveling to Germany tomorrow for medical tests, has agreed on joining Bayern with his new contract running for 3 years.
According to Sportbible, Mane is expected to be pocketing £250 000 a week at Bayern, a figure which doubles his salary at Liverpool. At Liverpool, Mane was reportedly pocketing £100k.
Bayern Munich had to go for Sadio Mane considering that their prolific striker Robert Lewandowski is set to leave for Barcelona.
The Bundesliga side successfully lured Mane despite having their two bids rejected by Liverpool.
The deal was then ‘sealed’ a couple of days after the Reds signed the Uruguayan Darwin Nunez from Benfica. Liverpool signed the 22-year old Nunez for a record fee of £64 million.
