In a major step towards enhancing AI-driven marketing in Africa, full-service digital marketing agency Hoorah announced that global advertising giant Monks has acquired a 25% stake in the business. This strategic partnership aims to expand Monks’ footprint in Africa while accelerating the use of AI-first solutions in the region.

Unlocking AI-Driven Services

Formerly known as Media.Monks, Monks operates as a global digital marketing leader under UK-listed S4 Capital. Specializing in innovative, personalized brand experiences, the company’s portfolio includes creative production, content marketing, social media marketing, and data analytics—all powered by AI. A recent Forrester study indicates that over 62% of B2B marketers already use AI-powered tools, with that number expected to rise to 75% by the end of 2024.

Through this investment, Hoorah gains access to Monks’ comprehensive suite of world-class AI marketing services, enabling businesses across Africa to scale efficiently and adopt AI-first strategies.

Transforming African Marketing

Shaune Jordaan, Hoorah’s Group CEO and founder, emphasized how AI is revolutionizing marketing, particularly in Africa, where businesses are leveraging AI tools to better engage, convert, and retain customers.

“At Hoorah, we embrace new ways of partnering and conducting business,” Jordaan said. “Our goal is to disrupt the traditional advertising landscape by delivering innovative and personalized brand experiences at scale—an approach that aligns perfectly with Monks’ strategy.”

He also highlighted the importance of having the right Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) equity partner in South Africa, which is crucial for clients and future growth opportunities.

Driving New Business Models

Hoorah COO Clyde Mallon expressed excitement about the partnership, noting that access to Monks’ global capabilities will allow them to revolutionize the agency landscape with AI-enabled models.

Jordaan and Mallon will remain shareholders and continue in their leadership roles, committed to driving this new chapter of growth. The deal was facilitated by Hoorah’s outgoing board members Adam Fine and Eran Brill, who see Monks as the perfect partner to take Hoorah’s business to new heights.
