Emirates has launched its first Emirates World store in Africa, marking a significant expansion of its reimagined retail concept in Nairobi, Kenya. This new store introduces a modern shopping experience for travelers, with more locations planned across the continent in the coming months, according to the airline’s statement.
Situated in the cutting-edge Cube building on Riverside Drive, the Emirates World store combines expert travel advice from dedicated consultants with self-service smart technology, offering passengers a unique and convenient experience.
The store was officially opened by Adil Al Ghaith, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations, Center, alongside Dr. Salim Alnaqbi, UAE Ambassador to Kenya. Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, expressed his excitement about bringing the airline’s new retail concept to Africa, enhancing the customer experience in Kenya, and expanding to other destinations across the continent soon.
Covering over 330 m², the store is designed in an open-plan, lounge-like style, aiming to offer a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for visitors.
Since Emirates first began operating in Kenya in October 1995, the airline has flown over five million passengers between Nairobi and Dubai on double-daily flights. In 2023, Emirates also formed an interline partnership with Kenya Airways, providing seamless connections to 28 destinations across Africa, including Mombasa, Kigali, Bangui, and Kilimanjaro, with over 12,000 passengers benefiting from the collaboration.
