The Critical Minerals Africa Group (CMAG) (www.CMAGAfrica.com), an organization dedicated to promoting the responsible sourcing and sustainable development of Africa’s vital mineral resources, is excited to announce a strategic alliance with APO Group (www.APO-opa.com), the award-winning pan-African communications consultancy and press release distribution service. This partnership is aimed at amplifying the global presence of Africa’s critical minerals industry.

By combining APO Group’s expertise in public relations and strategic communications with CMAG’s industry leadership, the collaboration will spotlight Africa’s critical minerals role in the global supply chain, enhancing the continent’s standing on the global stage.

With Sub-Saharan Africa holding roughly 40% of the world’s proven critical mineral reserves, including key resources like cobalt, lithium, and rare earth elements, the partnership comes at a pivotal time. These minerals are crucial for the global energy transition and the development of advanced technologies. As demand for these resources continues to grow, CMAG is committed to ensuring that Africa plays a central role in international dialogues on critical minerals and related supply chains while ensuring that Africa’s mineral wealth positively impacts local economies.

Veronica Bolton Smith, CEO of CMAG, shared, “Our partnership with APO Group is a significant step toward establishing Africa as a global leader in critical minerals. Together, we aim to amplify Africa’s voice in international conversations, shape policy, and unlock the full potential of Africa’s critical mineral resources.”

Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, Founder and Chairman of APO Group, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership: “We are excited to join forces with CMAG to shape the future of Africa’s critical minerals industry. While Africa’s central role in the global minerals market is undeniable, policymakers, business leaders, and citizens across the continent face challenges in influencing key policy and supply chain discussions. This partnership reinforces APO Group’s dedication to elevating Africa’s global standing.”

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), demand for critical minerals is set to soar, with nickel demand predicted to double, cobalt demand to triple, and lithium demand expected to grow tenfold. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) also suggests that harnessing these resources effectively could increase Sub-Saharan Africa’s GDP by more than 12% by 2050.
